How does the web design process work?
Briefing
The first step is a personal consultation where we discuss your project in detail. Together, we clarify all the key aspects:
- Do you already have a domain or hosting provider?
- How extensive should your website be?
- Do you have ideas or reference examples?
- Should the website be single-language or multilingual?
- Do you need special features such as an online shop, forms, or a protected members area?
This information forms the foundation for your customized web project.
Design Draft
Based on the briefing, I create a custom design for your website.
You’ll receive the first draft within a few days, giving you a quick impression of how your new website might look. We then review the draft together and incorporate your feedback and revision requests.
If you don’t yet have texts or images, I’ll be happy to support you in creating them – with a focus on search engine optimization (SEO) to ensure your website is easily found online.
Development
Once you approve the design, I implement it in WordPress and optimize all images for the web. This ensures fast loading times and improves your website’s performance.
During the implementation phase, I thoroughly test the website to make sure all features – from contact forms to dynamic content – function smoothly.
Before going live, you’ll receive a preview link for final review. If desired, I can also set up the Google Search Console, allowing you to monitor your website’s performance at any time.
Even after your website is live, I continue to support you reliably. You’ll receive written documentation so you can manage content such as texts and images on your own. If you prefer to hand over content updates, I’m happy to take care of them for you – whether it’s updating existing pages, adding new content, or optimizing visuals and text. These services are billed flexibly based on time and effort, giving you maximum freedom.
Additionally, I offer optional technical maintenance that includes regular backups and updates (CHF 30 per quarter). This keeps your website secure, high-performing, and future-proof at all times.
How long does it take to build my website?
Once all texts and images have been provided, it usually takes 4–6 weeks until launch. For more complex projects, it may take a little longer.
Can I edit or replace images and text myself?
Yes, absolutely. Your website is built with WordPress, and the user-friendly Gutenberg editor allows you to manage content, make updates, and add new pages at any time.
After the launch, I’ll show you how everything works. You’ll also receive a compact user guide that explains the key features – including how to insert and replace images and text.
Can I keep my existing hosting or move to a new provider?
Yes, you can keep your current hosting or move your website to a different hosting provider. I’ll be happy to support you with either option.
Which CMS (Content Management System) will be used for my website?
I work with WordPress in combination with the Gutenberg editor – a modern, lightweight, and high-performance solution.
Will I receive a preview link before the website goes live?
Yes, you’ll receive a preview link before the launch so you can review the website at your convenience and request any final adjustments.
Is my website SEO-optimized?
I focus on technical SEO optimization, including:
- Lightweight performance for fast loading times
- Only essential plugins to avoid unnecessary bloat
- SEO plugin (e.g. SEOPress or Yoast) installed upon request
- Image optimization through alt texts and compressed files
Note: Content-based SEO depends on the quality of your texts. I’m happy to provide tips for creating search engine-friendly content.
How can I improve my Google ranking?
Here are some effective measures to boost your visibility on Google:
- SEO-optimized texts with relevant keywords

- Mobile optimization for perfect display on smartphones

My TYPO3 website runs on an outdated PHP version, and the update would be very expensive. Can I migrate it to WordPress instead?
Yes, I can rebuild your website in WordPress while keeping all existing texts and images. This is often more cost-effective than a TYPO3 update. If you’re considering a design refresh, now is the perfect time.
But why is updating TYPO3 to a new PHP version so costly?
TYPO3 requires regular major updates, which involve significant technical effort. In addition to updating the system itself, custom adjustments, extensions, and templates often need to be revised or completely reprogrammed – making the process time-consuming and expensive.
In many cases, switching to WordPress is the more economical solution:
- More affordable updates without complex redevelopment
- User-friendly management with no programming skills required
- Flexibility and access to a wide range of extensions
I’ll be happy to advise you on whether migrating to WordPress is the right solution for your website.
What are the expected annual costs?
- Hosting: approx. CHF 180 per year with data location in Switzerland (alternatively, you can use your own hosting)
- Domain: a .ch domain (e.g. www.your-company-website.ch) costs around CHF 15 per year
- Optional maintenance & backups: CHF 120 per year (CHF 30 per quarter)
